The conference is intended for
All academic and research staff whose professional interests include the education and training of military and security sector personnel. It is also intended for commanders and managers of the state’s armed forces and security services.
Traditionally, our meeting follows previous colloquia, conferences, and workshops on leadership that focus on linking theoretical approaches with professional practice, particularly in the military but also in the broader security environment.
Conference objectives
Leadership in security forces represents a relatively complex set of activities carried out by a commander, primarily within the framework of established rules and regulations, through which the leader guides subordinates to accomplish tasks and objectives while simultaneously developing their competencies (knowledge, skills, attitudes) and motivation. The aim of this year’s conference is to discuss the forms and methods of institutional support provided to commanders for working with personnel and their development on both a national and international scale.
For several years now, the Leadership in Theory and Practice conference has provided a forum for face-to-face meetings between members of the academic community and interested parties and representatives of military and security practice, enabling the valuable sharing of knowledge and experience in the field of personnel management, the development of commanders’ leadership competencies, and contributes to the desired integration of theory and practice in leading people within security forces under the current conditions of a dynamically changing social and security environment.
